Prioritizing Your Health: The Ultimate Act of Self-Love

When you truly love someone, you care for them deeply—you nourish them, protect them, and make sure they have what they need to thrive. But do you extend that same love to yourself?

Many people, especially women, put everyone else’s needs before our own. We take care of our families, show up for work, and keep everything running smoothly. But prioritizing your health isn’t selfish—it’s an act of self-love. It’s how you show up for yourself so you can continue to show up for the people you love.

One of my clients was struggling to get herself a well-balanced breakfast each morning—or rather, any breakfast at all. But you know who never missed a meal? Her dog. No matter how busy the morning rush was, she always made sure her furry best friend had fresh food, water, and a potty break. So, I encouraged her to habit stack—pairing her commitment to her pup with a commitment to herself. Now, every morning, she sits down for breakfast either right before or right after feeding her dog. The result? A happy pup and a well-fed dog mama.

Funny enough, she also has two kids she consistently feeds and gets onto the school bus each day, but sometimes pairing healthy habits with the adorable face of a pet makes self-care finally stick.

This is the only body you get. Treat it with the love and care it deserves, and it will love you right back.
